Care Partner Training: Week #2

Our Mission: Supporting and guiding people with Christ-centered care as they navigate through change in every season of life.

Week #2: Training

Topic: Feelings: Yours, Mine, and Ours in Caregiving: Trainees will learn how to become better able to help others recognize, accept, and express their feelings.

Commissioning Requirements

Each week during your training, a different topic will be discussed.  Each topic is essential and necessary to become the best Care Partner you can be and we do realize trainees may miss one or two weeks of training due to various issues. However, after missing three training sessions, trainees will not be eligible to participate in our commissioning ceremony. Trainees will be encouraged to complete any missed sessions and will be commissioned after the completion of the next Care Partner Training Season. Only after being commissioned will Care Partners be assigned a Care Receiver.

Don’t Forget!

• We honor each other when we arrive and start on time. Training starts promptly at 6:30pm.

Prayer Partner

When you have the opportunity to call or get-together with your Prayer Partner, make sure to work on listening to their feelings; this is an excellent way to show care and build a relationship, just as you will  with your future Care Receivers.

How to Prepare for Week 3:

• CPTM Pre-class Reading, The Art of Listening

• Christian Caregiving – a Way of Life, Chapters 8-13

• Text, call or get-together with your Prayer Partner, share any prayer requests, and pray together.
